Is classical education all about reading the classics? If you’re worried about having to read Dostoevsky because most of what you consume is NetFlix–well, yes, be worried, because you’ll need to expand your horizons, BUT, that doesn’t mean you have to totally give up your favourite Hollywood films. In this episode, Schoolman Fawcett talks to Scholarch McLarney about what “grammar” means in a classical education and how understanding the grammar of the universe (through Scripture) allows us to interpret both great and middlebrow works of art, whether that’s The Divine Comedy or some slightly less ambitious spy movies.
As part of a larger online outreach school with Elk Island Catholic Schools, St. Isidore aims to deliver a joyful Classical Catholic Education.
