Mara is the Executive Director of Student Wellness and School Culture for the San Diego County Office of Education. She is also the designee of the State Superintendent of Public Instruction, she serves as a Commissioner on the Mental Health Services Oversight Accountability Commission (MHSOAC). Her tenure as Chair of the Commission for the past three years is a testament to her ability to drive change and significantly impact the field of mental health.
Mara has been promoting student mental health and wellness for over 20 years. She passionately advocates for all things life and wellness-enhancing for students and staff. She is authentic and sincere and appreciates laughter and kindness above all else.
