Leigh is Head of the Department of Biomedical Engineering, and the Director of the Melbourne Brain Centre Imaging Unit in the Department of Radiology.  Leigh studied Electrical Engineering and Computer Science as an undergraduate and did a PhD in statistical signal processing. After a few years wandering around in the research wilderness, Leigh fell into the world of neuroscience and brain imaging and hasn’t looked back.  We had a great chat about where her passions stemmed from,  as well as the current status of student engagement in academia.
