In today's episode of The Hero of the Hour Podcast, Mark chats with Terrie O'Connor, owner of Terrie O'Connor Realtors. Terrie is licensed in New York and New Jersey where she has helped thousands of businesses and families make their real estate dreams come true. She began her successful real estate career in 1981, working in both sales and management. Terrie worked extensively with corporate transferees as well as marketing residential properties and new construction. Since founding Terrie O’Connor Realtors in 1991, she has been joined by an impressive broker management team, an experienced staff and an ever-growing roster of talented and enthusiastic real estate professionals. As both the daughter and then wife of U.S. Naval officers, Terrie has lived in such places as Malta, Hawaii, Panama and England as well as a dozen places in the continental United States, from the East Coast to the West. She is a long time resident of Bergen County, where she raised her four children. Terrie is also a past Chairman of the Board of the Builders Association of northern New Jersey and was the first woman President in 1994 and 1995.

During the episode, they discuss the path Terrie took to becoming her own boss and starting her own business in 1991.

They talk about her son Joe and daughter Kate, and their roles in the company, as well as the reasons Terrie believes that family is more important than money.

Terrie also shares advice for those who may be working in a family-run business.
