On Saturday, November 19, 2022, Hennepin History Museum is sponsoring a special free event, Southside Stories: Our North Star Journey, featuring McMoore, a lifelong Minneapolis resident. He shares the story of his family's journey from their enslavement on a Virginia plantation to their freedom in Hastings, Minnesota. The event is from 11 am to 1:30 pm at St. Peter's AME Church, 401 E. 41st St., Minneapolis.
