Rishi: Atharva
O Pushan, at this birth, let Aryaman, the ordainer, helper and invoker, utter vashat for you. May this aldy desiring a child as arranged by Truth be relaxed. Let all her legs be separated to help the birth.
Four are the regions of heaven, four are that of the earth. From there the gods have sent the child. May the womb be completely open to ease the birth.
Let Suusha open her. We make the passage of the child to come out easy. O pregnant one, loosen. O eager one, you give birth to the child.
Jaraayu should not get stuck in flesh, fat, or in the marrow. Let the jaraayu which is spotted and sticky come down after birth, to be eaten by a dog. Let the jaraayu descend, after the birth.
O Lady, I split your womb. I make the path of the child in the womb clear. I make the naadis to function. I separate the child from the mother . I separate the son from the jaraayu. I make the jaraayu to descend.
Just as the wind, the mind and the birds fly, you fly away after your birth from jaraayu, O child of ten months. Let the skin of after-birth descend.
