It centres Frederic Bourdin, a French man who poses as Nicholas Barclay, the missing teenage son of a Texas family. We learn how Frederic was able to deceive both the authorities and the family. The documentary takes us through his motives and shines a light on the family's possible involvement in Nicholas' disappearance.
