  • Starting Monday, March 14th, students are not required (but still strongly encouraged) to wear masks indoors anymore. Some students will continue to wear masks and others will choose not to wear them. I will continue to wear a mask indoors at least through spring break.
  • Update: Jog-A-Thon Friday March 25th (Turn in Pledge Envelopes to Mr. Gray by April 1st)
    • Our run time is first thing in the morning (8:25-8:55) so students should come dressed to run.
    • Open House Thursday, March 31st
    • Multiplication and Division Facts Practice
    • Spelling Words - The kids will receive the words Tuesday, practice during the week, and take the quiz on Friday.
    • Follow along with our Wordament!
    • Reader’s

      Workshop

The students will spend the week researching an animal of their choice. They will study how to build up vocabulary and talk with the lingo of experts and how to discuss our topic with zeal for a new animal or animals of their choice both in class and with library books.

      Writer’s

      Workshop

The kids will wrap up our writing about research unit going along with our reading unit. They will draft and write all about an animal or multiple animals.

      Math

      What happened to math class?

We start a finish unit on telling time intervals (ex. PE started at 10:45 and ended at 11:19, how many minutes was PE). We practice solving problems using t-charts and then students will choose strategies that work the best for them. We will also ask students to make up their own problems and have other students solve them.

      Social

      Studies

The kids will investigate rules, rights, and laws. We will begin our study of “citizenship” and what it means to be a good citizen.

      Science

We will continue our weather unit by what it means to be a meteorologist. We will also study the tools of weather data collection by exploring thermometers.

      Thank you,

      Mr. Gray
