Kasey Taylor is an art consultant and founder/ president of the Scooty Fund, a non-profit organization for Mental Health. We chat about the death of her brother Will, who passed away by suicide and her challenges of losing a brother so young. She openly chats about her unsupportive coping mechanism and how she got to her current mental state. There's a big importance in showing up authentically and being able to express your true mental state. Emotions are part of life and we need them and we can all connect with our pain. A lot of people don’t talk about suicide, and they don’t have anyone to talk to about it. No man is an island, everyone needs help. When supporting someone who is suicidal asking questions, non-judgmentally, can be very beneficial + oftentimes, listening is enough. Remember that everything is from someone’s perspective and to continue to connect with people regularly on a deeper level. Practice things every day that brings you joy and makes you feel healthy, within your body and your mind. Small changes can make the biggest impact. Kasey is currently in Grad school to become a therapist and is going to continue to help people with their mental health!
