It’s easy to look at writers who are selling thousands of books and earning six figures a year (some even seven figures) and think they are doing so much better than you.
You might think they have life worked out and know exactly what they’re doing and have a master plan they’re working towards.
But that isn't always the case! Everybody is on a journey of discovery, and that includes their money journey.
Michele asks the excellent question of what is abundance and what does it mean to you? What is prosperity? It's different things to different people, but it certainly includes money and we shouldn’t be afraid of that.
If writing comes easily to you and you find it fun, that doesn’t diminish the work you’ve put into it.
The old, very masculine, way of approaching work is changing. The mantra of 'You’ve got to work hard if you want to earn a good wage' is slowly changing. Just because your work is easy and enjoyable, that doesn’t make it any less valuable.
We talk about money beliefs and where they come from. Both of us have taken Denise Duffield Thomas’ Money Bootcamp, and have learnt so much from it. We’ve learnt that our beliefs around money come from our parents and childhood, even those we’re not aware of.
For example, did you know that families have a financial upper limit? It’s never spoken about, and most of the time we’re not aware it exists, but it inhibits how much we believe we are allowed to earn.
Listen to our conversation to find out why that is.
Those money beliefs are holding you back from investing in your writing. You probably don’t see it as worthwhile or offering a return on investment, not realising that the return is infinite.
If you recognise that you have money blocks, but aren’t sure how to start changing them, this episode will do just that for you.
