Spend some time reflecting and discussing the text from today’s message. Here are some questions to consider.

• Identify key people, themes, and words in the passage. Identify how the parable in 20:9-18 relates to the prior events.

• What was wrong with those who sold things in the temple? Were they just trying to boost their essential oil sales or was there something deeper? What was it?

• How does the idea of selling things in the temple relate to the wicked tenants? What, if anything, did they have in common?

• The sermon relates a lot to the idea of tenancy versus ownership. What are the primary differences between the two? Personally, how do you view your responsibilities on earth? As a tenant or as an owner? What does that look like in how you view the time, treasures, and talents entrusted to you?
