1.13 Mindfulness of Thoughts Meditation

This meditation is designed to help you be aware of thoughts as they occur.  When we are aware of our thoughts, as just thoughts, we are then consciously able  to appropriate actions that are skillful and serve our heart. That  is the ultimate purpose of a Mindfulness Of Thoughts practice.

When you notice thoughts are happening, you can see common patterns of thought without being caught in them.   You can  step out of the story the thought tells and choose which thoughts to hold and which thoughts  to let go of.    A Mindfulness Of Thoughts practice reminds us that thoughts are things. They are not us. They are real  but not necessarily true. Thoughts are have no power  except what we give them.
