The Big Book says the program works for most except "those who do not have the capacity to be honest with themselves." I think that some people lose touch with this capacity because they are no longer safe with themselves because of the severity of the judgment, condemnation and criticism they lash on themselves. You don't have to condemn yourself for what you've done, it's just a habit you're in...it can be broken!
Within each of us lies the capacity to find gratitude in the blessings that have come from our messes. If you're struggling in your commitment to the 12 Steps and feeling discouraged or feel unable to find gratitude in your messes and desire to have it, reach out, mindset coaching with me can help you get there.
