Mike is an Entrepreneur in Residence at UC San Diego, the host of the SnackWalls podcast, and Chief Apprenticeship Officer at San Diego Code School.
He's been writing software for the past 32 years. The first half of that time he did it as a hobby. Now he serve others and helps them shorten the journey to becoming Software Engineers.
He's passionate about helping underrepresented people break into tech and helping companies build high-performance engineering teams out of often-overlooked talent.
He serves as the second President of the San Diego JavaScript Community (https://sandiegojs.org). A wonderful group of folks that enjoy life long learning, networking, and nerding out about JavaScript.
He sits on a few boards of organizations that are making an impact in #dei and is happy to help anyone he can build a career in technology.
He's humbled to have helped so many people get better through my online training, coaching programs, and mentorship.
Having launched more than 100 student careers and have grads working at IBM/RedHat, Apple, WalmartLabs, Sony, AWS, Facebook, Deloitte, Trust&Will and many more amazing tech companies, he's been making a difference in so many lives.
His clients span from small to mid size businesses, all the way to Fortune 500 Companies and government agencies. Regardless of where your team is today, he can help them grow and get better at writing quality software.
