In today's the-Automators' Podcast Jackie Sztuk and Joe Glines discuss if we should include a v1 or v2 in our scripts.  With Version 2 getting closer and closer to a full launch, what are the best ways to avoid the craziness we went through with Vanilla to AHK_L (1.0 to 1.1)

This is very similar to Python's switch from version 2 to version 3.  Things were a huge mess!  People were very confused and, since many items are not backwards compatible, it was a terrible experience.   

How can we prevent this?
