TRAILER PARK!
‘The Devil All The Time’ - The first trailer off the park this week is from Director Antonio Campos, commanding an all-star cast through the murky waters that is ‘The Devil All the Time’. A young orphaned man finds himself torn between his father's dark past and his troubled present as he struggles to get a grip on who he can trust and where he should go. There seems to be something in the water of this small town as everyone seemingly has something to hide. A shady sheriff, a perplexing preacher, a cold-hearted couple, and a lonesome lover are just the tip of the iceberg that is this confusing yet highly intriguing story. Crawling onto Netflix like a box of spiders crawling onto a disabled man's face, the 16th of September.
‘Freaks - You’re One of Us’ - This is what we’ve all been waiting for, Germany’s answer to X-Men! Yes, you heard that correctly, the trailer for the German film ‘Freaks: You’re One of Us’ is all about a poor waitress who is struggling her way through the murky world of being a single mother, stuck in a job trying to support herself and her child. Until one fateful night when she discovers she has superpowers! Indestructible, incredible strength, she’s a weapon!! And one night at work she gets approached by ElctroMan! A superhero in hiding with a couple of other dudes, looking to recruit her to his team of underground crime fighters! Now together they can… save the day? But with great power comes bad guys who want it or something. Sliding onto Netflix like a disappointing costume that just doesn’t fit right, September 2nd!
‘Unpregnant’ - You know it’s going to be a stellar trailer when the first thing you see is ‘HBO MAX Original’. Yay. But anyway, here we find the trailer for ‘Unpregnant’. The story revolves around a high school girl who ‘uh oh spaghettio!’ Has gotten herself pregnant! Well, I mean, not just herself, I mean, someone else helped but, well, you know! Now she has decided to get a shmishshmortion but she cannot do that without parental consent and she can’t tell her parents so who does she get? Her former childhood friend, with whom she used to be Besties. Now the two girls must travel 15 hours either way to the only shmishshmortion clinic around. Stolen cars, road trip snacks, camping out under the stars, and Gus from Breaking Bad all await in the Dramedy we won’t be able to watch. Ripping onto HBO Max like a fetus from a teenager, 10th of September.
‘Young Wallander’ - Kurt Wallander is a recent graduate from the Police Academy (no, not the funny one from the ’80s) in England and he lives in the equivalent of the ghettos. When a terrifying yet intriguingly cool murder happens near his home, he reveals himself to be a policeman to his neighbours and essentially ‘outs’ himself. With his connection to the ‘poor’ people around him, his police chief says to chuck the baby faced, fresh, new, inexperienced rookie onto the case for funsies basically. So now the Young Wallander must try and find a killer on his first-ever case and find out how deep this case actually runs. Exploding onto Netflix, like the body of a man with a grenade in his mouth, September 3rd.
‘Magic Camp’ - Abra. Kadabra. ALAKAZAM!! Now that I’ve listed my favorite Pokémon, let’s talk about a movie trailer! ‘Magic Camp’ is the next Disney Plus original film coming to their service. Two world-renowned magicians (Played by Adam Devine and Gillian Jacobs) return to the childhood magic camp where they got their start and first found their love for magic. They decide on a friendly wager, who can teach their group of misfit children the best tricks and win the annual magic show or something?! Unfortunately the best part about this movie isn’t in the trailer as the legend that is Jeffrey Tambor owns the magic camp but they didn’t show him in the trailer. Boo-urns. But with all of that being said, the biggest question still remains: Do Magic Camps actually exist?! Burning its way onto Disney Plus like a kid
