The new Michael Jackson Biopic, Michael, by Antoine Fuqua, feels like a by-the-numbers biopic. Starring Jackson's actual nephew, its greatest crime perhaps is to take such an incredible and interesting cultural figure and create something relatively mediocre from it. In contrast to the documentary about the allegations against him, Leaving Neverland feels incredibly dense and sometimes hard to keep up with, but it takes its 4-hour runtime to paint a detailed picture that stays with you long after you've stopped watching.
