This morning I read a report Over-Exposed and Under-Protected - the Devastating Impact of COVID-19 on Black and Minority Ethnic Communities in Great Britain. I was particularly interested in the part of the report was the statement that Black and Ethnic Minority people have less savings than their whit counterparts. It reported that for every £1 of white British wealth, Black caribbean households have around 20p this was halved for Black African and Bangladeshi households.
It got me thinking about how important it is to have an emergency fund for everyone but even more important for the Black and Ethnic Minority communities so they are financially resilient during unexpected times such as COVID-19.
