Luke 1:26-38,46-55

1. Foundational Pattern (vv. 26-38, 46) = God Acts, We Respond-

-Reverse the Pattern- Prosperity Gospel

-Eliminate the First Part- Moralism/Being Good

-Eliminate the Second Part- Dead Faith

2. Subversive Pattern (vv. 47-55) = Through the Humble, For the Needy-

-Mary was Afflicted/Needy - She represented all of Israel in this way

-God had Promised Salvation and Blessings for His People

-Jesus’ Coming meant His Followers would Subvert the Values of the World by Showing Mercy and Love to those in Need

Response-

-Have I responded to God by trusting in His gift of Life and Salvation through Jesus and worshiping Him completely?

-How is God working through me and those around me as we humble ourselves and allow Him to use us to minister to those in need?

-How will Emmaus respond to meet the needs of vulnerable children and families in need of healing and the hope of the Gospel?
