1. Baptism is showing public submission to Godʼs Word.
Vs. 14 “And John tried to prevent Him”
Luke 3:21
2. Baptism is prophetic in its very nature.
Vs. 15 “for thus it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness”
Baptism represents the righteousness God imputes to us through
Christʼs blood!
Imputed, “Charged to the account of… charge somebody
responsible for another's crime”; Romans 5:12-21
Imparted, “To give, grant or communicate; to bestow on another a
share or portion of something”
Already, but not yet!
I Cor 15: 50-57
3. Baptism shows the acceptance of God apart from good
works.
Vs.17 “This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased”
