Sermon Text: John 13:1-17
Theme: Jesus demonstrates his love for his own by washing their feet, an act that
points to our need for spiritual cleansing (accomplished in Christ’s Passover act)
and to our need to humbly serve one another.
I. John sets the stage for this amazing act of love.
II. The two-fold meaning of foot washing.
A. Participation with Christ requires cleansing.
B. Participation with Christ calls us to mutual, humble service.
