Asian in Aotearoa

12. Grace Ko: breakups, friendships, dance

Listen Later

Grace Ko is Taiwanese-Chinese, in her 20s and enjoying the world through dancing, conversing, thinking really hard, barely thinking at all, making jewellery, painting, playing the piano, and finding joy and connection in her community.

We talk about breakups, self-reflection and discovery, friendships, social norms and pressure, family and more. Note: there’s mention of racial violence when Grace speaks about her family’s experience here - so I invite you to check in with how you’re feeling and if you need to skip forward, please do so if and when needed.
