Michael Pollan said… “Eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants.”
Our listeners are interested in making healthy choices and eating an optimal diet… but what does a healthy diet even mean? In today’s age of information overload and social media, it can be difficult to differentiate fact from opinion. Here to help us decode some of these is a doctor whose reputation precedes him…
Dr. David Katz is the founding director of Yale University’s Yale-Griffin Prevention Research Center, Past president of the American College of Lifestyle Medicine, Founder/President of the True Health Initiative, and founder and CEO of Diet ID. He earned his MD from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and his Masters in Public Health from Yale University school of Public health. He is board certified in preventative medicine and public health. He has authored roughly 200 peer-reviewed publications, and 18 books to date including his most recent book How to Eat: All Your Food and Diet Questions Answered. His social media following reaches nearly one million, and he is globally recognized for his expertise in nutrition, lifestyle medicine and health promotion. Most importantly, Dr. Katz truly cares about getting to the truth of what is good for humans and good for our planet.
What other factors do you find personally are the MOST influential over how you feel on a day to day basis? Do you prioritize sleep, connection with family, mindfulness, etc? Or is balance most important in your life? (32:48)
