Welcome to The Grit Show!
In today's episode, Sonja shares her near-death experience and how she proved science wrong after waking up from her coma. Yes, you read that right, a coma! "You don't know me," she thought when the doctors gave her the recovery odds. Her story is as inspiring as it is shocking! And her Icelandic flair tops it off.
27-year-old Sonja Simonardottir is from Iceland, born in Reykjavik. She is a lawyer, working at Reykjavik University. Her triathlon journey began in the fall of 2020. In January 2021, she survived sepsis, ARDS, and multiple organ failures. With the timing of her medical issues lining up with the Conquer 100, she became the Iron Cowboy's biggest fan.
