Verses mentioned in this episode:
“Praise the Lord. Praise the Lord, my soul. I will praise the Lord all my life; I will sing praise to my God as long as I live.” ~ Psalms 146:1-2
“So I find this law at work: Although I want to do good, evil is right there with me. For in my inner being I delight in God’s law; but I see another law at work in me, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within me. What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body that is subject to death? Thanks be to God, who delivers me through Jesus Christ our Lord!” ~ Romans 7:21-25
“In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans.” ~ Romans 8:26
“He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” ~ Psalms 46:10
A Message from Melissa: “Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.” (1 Thess. 5:21): Study the Scripture for yourself and remember that I am just a person sharing the Gospel. I make mistakes. I don't explain the Word of God in a way that will resonate with everyone. I am not going to get it right all the time, and nor will any teacher, preacher, YouTuber, or pastor. I believe we can learn so much from each other, but no person's teaching can replace getting into the Bible yourself. As Christians let's focus more on the truth that unites us -- that we are saved by grace through faith because of what Christ did for us on the cross -- rather than on the details meant to divide us. Thank you for being here, and thank you for giving me grace.
