Most of us can probably relate to self-sabotaging our relationships in some way. But why do we do it? We know better and we really do love our partners... so why are we trying so hard to ruin it? Why are we constantly searching for evidence that the relationship is going to end?
In this week's episode, I talk about our capacity to have and what happens when our current reality exceeds our current identity and what we believe to be true. That cognitive dissonance is so uncomfortable for the brain that it is going to anything in its power to make reality fit our beliefs, even if that means ruining a good relationship.
