Have you ever wondered how to donate clutter after you have started an organizing project? I know many people automatically give to Salvation Army or Goodwill but today I really want to encourage you to look past these two large nonprofits and look for the smaller agencies in your neighborhood. Places like your local animal shelters like the SPCA, domestic violence programs like the YWCA, and foster care agencies. All of these types of nonprofits have a great need for the stuff that is just sitting in your closets, basements, and attics! Plus, I believe it is so much more motivating when you donate "clutter" to organizations that are close to your heart. Today I share all of my reasons for donating your stuff to the smaller nonprofits and ideas for where to take your items.
Also, I would LOVE it if you would send me your favorite local organizations so that I can add them to the website I am building on the Local Give page of this website. You can email your suggestions to [email protected].
