Pastors have honed a skill to differentiate themselves from the people around them. This skill enables them to be present and compassionate in any situation. Pastors Michael and Beth both exercised this skill as chaplains at trauma one hospitals (Level I trauma centers) as part of their training. Today they talk about their experiences of reading a room and figuring out how to not “make it about them.”
