What holds you back from achieving your dreams? Oftentimes it is when you hold yourself back with “comfortable complacency.”
In order to learn and grow we have to go through things that will challenge us and stay comfortable to keep us out of the uncomfortable moments we will miss out on growth. Getting uncomfortable is a necessary step in personal growth and development. It's only when we step out of our comfort zones that we can truly challenge ourselves and learn new skills, ideas, and perspectives. While staying within our comfort zones might feel safe and secure, it often leads to stagnation and limited potential. Embracing discomfort can be difficult, but it's essential for personal growth. When we confront our fears, take risks, and try new things, we not only expand our capabilities but also gain confidence in our ability to overcome obstacles. Getting uncomfortable is not about pushing ourselves to the brink of exhaustion or harm, but rather recognizing our limits and pushing them gradually. By embracing discomfort and seeking out new experiences, we can unlock our full potential and become the best versions of ourselves.
Lauren and Laurel talk about making changes in life by establishing small habits is a powerful way to make lasting changes in our lives. By starting with small, manageable actions that we can easily incorporate into our daily routines, we can build momentum and gradually make bigger changes over time. Small habits create a sense of accomplishment and reinforce positive behavior, making it more likely that we will continue to make progress. They also help us to break down larger goals into smaller, more achievable steps, making the process less overwhelming. By focusing on small habits and consistently working to improve them, we can create lasting change and achieve our goals over the long term. Slow down and take the small steps that will give you confidence in following through on the promises you have made to yourself then you can expand and elevate into more.
Towards the end of the episode they talk about the power of the mind - body connection. Our mindset and how we feel about ourselves has a great impact on the physical body. The mind-body connection refers to the idea that our mental and emotional states can influence our physical health and vice versa. By paying attention to our thoughts, emotions, and physical sensations, we can cultivate a greater awareness of the mind-body connection and use it to improve our overall health and well-being.
