In today’s passage, Jacob is standing at the riverbank of the Jabbok preparing to meet his twin brother, Esau who he has not seen in over 20 years. At the riverbank on the eve of reuniting with Esau, just before daybreak Jacob finds himself wrestling with an unknown assailant. We discuss the importance of this struggle in Jacob’s journey and wonder about the ways our own struggles affect our growth.
