Episode 124 - BILL SHAKESPEARE’S SONNET WHAT?
TRAILER PARK!
Dune’ - Our first trailer off the park this week is for a film we have been hearing about seemingly for the last two years or more. About how spectacular and fantastical this big-budget bombastic film will be. Well now finally we have our first look at Denis Villeneuve’s epic imagining of ‘Dune’! Now to be brutally honest, I know nothing of the Dune story or the novel or 1984 cinematic version so the trailer to be made next to no sense but what I gather is it is set in a futuristic world where some kid has like dream powers. You know, like he has visions or something. And his dad is like the boss man of like a tonne of planets and stuff and then his dad tries to take over a planet but the people fight back or something. And the kid, well he’s like ‘yeah, Nah, not taking that shit old man!’ And he like fights alongside Aquaman against his dad, you know? All joking aside, the film looks like it lives up to its nutty budget and is going to be an epic journey in the theatre! Very excited to check this one out coming Boxing Day, 2020.
‘Hubie Halloween’ - Okay… how does this keep happening? How do we keep giving Adam Sandler the chance to make a film while portraying the exact same character every time? I’ll tell you how: because now matter how stupid the film looks, No matter how much I whinge about that he is just playing the same character, No matter how many of his friends he crams into the film for stupid one-liners… I will STILL end up watching this film because it is so conveniently on Netflix. Curse you, Sandler!! Hubie Halloween tells the ‘story’ of Sandler being the local nut job, always reporting anything out of the ordinary to police, always trying to be a nice guy but really just inconveniencing everyone and copping the brunt of bullying from the local kids and adults alike. But this Halloween something is off, something is wrong and he is the only one who can stop it! But who will believe him? Who will help him before it’s too late?! Let’s find out together, October 7!
‘Freaky’ - Well if this isn’t the greatest idea for a film ever I have no idea what is! We all love Lindsay Lohan and Jaime Lee Curtis’ absolute classic film Freaky Friday of course. And we all adore the incredible Rob Schneider and Rachel McAdams’ mix up film The Hot Chick Yeah? Well, what if we combined the two together and I dunno put Kathryn Newton in the role of the pretty high school girl and then you know, put Vince fucking Vaughn in the creepy old guy role and switch their bodies. Oh, wait, not juicy enough? Why don’t we make Vaughn’s character a serial killer? Oh yes, everything about this trailer screams ‘Shut up and take my money’ as we see almost a cliche teenage horror film but one that has me itching to see it!! Add in the fact this film is written and directed by the guy who brought us Happy Death Day 1 & 2 AND is a Blumhouse production. Yup. I’m in. Coming to theatres late November/Early December.
‘Save Yourselves!’ - In the social media and tech-driven world we live in, have you ever actually considered switching off from everything with your significant other and heading out to a secluded cabin and spending a week away from the world? Sounds pretty good right? Just being away from it all. But what if the oonnnnne time you choose to do that, the world is attacked and in aided by floofy poofs!!!! I mean, ALIENS?!? This is the case for young 21st-century couple Jack and Su as they find themselves isolated out in the woods while the world around them is being taken over by the most floooofiest poooofs! I MEAN ALIENS!! How can they survive without any knowledge of basic survival skills or YouTube tutorials?! Coming to on-demand October 6!
‘8 7’ - Our final trailer this week is written and directed by the uber-serious Aaron Sorkin and has an incredible cast including but not limited to Eddie Redmayne, Alex Sharp, Sacha Baron Cohen, Jeremy Strong, John Carroll Lynch, Y
