Episode 125 - ANNOYINGLY LOUD MOTORCYCLES?!
Harry Potter fans rejoice this week! Fantastic Beasts 3 has been confirmed to start production by lead Eddie Redmayne and the Hogwarts RPG game announcement looks magnificent! Dwayne Johnson apparently destroys his own security fence because his power went out and he might be a little bit late for work. What a donkey. There’s a Robocop Prequel series in the making which is going to tell the story of the first films Corporate Villian ‘Dick Jones’... which means No Robocop. So why then? Harry Potter open-world game coming! PS5 Pricing and Release Date confirmed! POWER MOVE. TRAILER PARK!
‘The Father’ - Our first trailer off the park this week is one that took me a little by surprise even though it shouldn’t have! Oscar-winner Sir Anthony Hopkins leads the way alongside Oscar winner Olivia Coleman in this gripping story about a father and daughter coming to terms with Hopkins' dwindling mind. At the chipper age of 83, Hopkins believes he is still as ‘spritely’ and ‘aware’ as ever of the world around him, but seeing his daughter go to all kinds of lengths to ‘help’ him he becomes confused and angry about this. He begins to question people he should know, habits he should be used to, and even the very fabric of reality. Is this just a tale of an older gentleman losing grip on reality or is something much sinister going on? Florian Zellar’s directing DeButt is coming to theatres, Jan 2021.
‘Moonbase 8’ - Our second trailer this week is one I’m not too sure about. It all sounds fine and dandy, John C Reily, Tim Heidecker, and Fred Armisen all starring in a comedy with heart full of Goofy moments, funny one-liners and moments of real drama… but my concern comes with that it is set in the desert and is about them being successful astronauts… I’m not going to say what I think it is copying, I’ll hold back on that. BUT the story at hand revolves around the three gentlemen as they replicate life in space, seemingly competing with a neighboring ‘test’ moon site for a spot aboard the next space mission. They go through expected challenges like filtering urine to drink, to intense desert storms. All with their own reasons for wanting to space like proving their love to their father, wanting to succeed after a failed marriage and even to spread the good word about Jesus Christ! It does seem funny and full of heart but hell, I’m gonna say it: Poormans ‘SpaceForce’?! Coming to showtime November 8.
‘Nocturne’ - Hold the phones everybody. Hold the phones. Could we be looking at Mitchell’s potential double-wide this week? This gripping film (writer/director Zu Quirke’s Feature Film DeButt!) tells the story of two sisters, both incredibly successful classical musicians vying for a spot in a highly regarded, prestigious classical musical school! What? That doesn’t sound gripping? That doesn’t sound thrilling? Well as we say each week, pause the podcast and watch this trailer. From the producers of ‘Get Out’ and ‘Whiplash’ comes this Blumhouse and Amazon production about two sisters, both incredible musicians but one is always in the other's shadow. When a student at the prestigious classical music school kills herself, there is an open spot and the sisters compete for that spot. When you’ve been living in your sister's shadow for so long, how far w
