Can you connect the dots?
Thank you for calling GIH where we instigate growth one call at a time where we utilize antiquated technology to deliver 3-minute leadership lessons every day of the week! This is message #125 and I am Aaron Havens.
My buddy asked me what makes someone a good networker?
Now of course, going to social events and talking with other people is a good baseline. After a bit of thinking about it blurted out… someone is a good networker if they are “aware”. They pay attention. They can remember that so and so does such and such.
Are you an observer? Do you pay attention? Can you connect the dots?
In a commerce setting, networking… being aware can lead to further relationships and possible synergy in business. Some people thrive on that!
I want to take the topic a level lower. A level, where all of us, regardless of personality type will need to consider. Let’s take this to a personal level.
As you move about your days, do you look to correlate and coordinate?
Correlate means to have a close connection with something, or to show that a close connection exists between two or more things.
Coordinate means to place or arrange in proper order or position, or to combine in harmonious relation or action.
Can you take an event from this morning and let it find meaning this afternoon?
Can you utilize your networks and experiences to make not only your life better, but the lives of the people around you? Are you looking for ways to make sense of your days… stack them on top of each other and organize them for good?
Being an observer of our lives can lead to weaving together a beautiful and unique blanket that only you can weave. Your experiences and relationships are not an accident. Please take what you have, what you know, what you’ve done and coordinate them. We will all be impressed to watch you smile as you do your thing.
Thanks for calling in today. Tune in tomorrow for the weekend edition. When was the last time you stepped back and observed your life and organized it for maximum benefit. Or do you tend to just let life happen and make the best of it. Let me know… after the beep.
