Mukesh Bubna spent over two decades woking for Citibank / Citigroup. He joined fresh out of college and in comparison to India’s biggest state owned banks at the time, working at Citizens felt like working at a startup. Management structure was flat and this allowed Mukesh to jump right into interesting projects and learn the bank’s operations from the ground up. This lead to moves from India to Singapore and Hong Kong and Mukesh was given the responsibility to help build out the bank’s internet banking products and infrastructure. This required constant learning, a theme of Mukesh’s entire career at Citi, education him in the agile process of building new software platforms and also getting client feedback as products were being developed. All of this experience now comes in handy as Mukesh and his team build the peer to peer lending business that is Monexo.
