Your trials, heartache and catastrophes are blessings in your life. Through them the Lord refines us and allows us to see what is most important in this life. More than 220 immigrating Saints died along the trail with the Willie and Martin Handcart Pioneers. Many lay in unmarked graves. 135 years later many of those men, women and children who had sacrificed their life in obedience to their ecclesiastical leaders, had not had their Temple ordinances completed. They had been left behind twice. The Riverton Wyoming’s “Second Rescue” was an all out effort to identify all those who had died along the trail.
