126. TAKEOVER - Kevin Sturmer - The value of storytelling
As Fanzo travels, we have an episode on the importance of storytelling and how that can provide context to any project, including NFTs.
In today's episode, Kevin Sturmer from our team takes the mic and you may recognize his voice from the intro of every episode of this podcast. Kevin also designed the NFT 365 3D season passes and play an integral role with our website art, Proof of Podcasts, and helping grow this community. He spent nearly 20 years in market research, visualizing data and leading as a Creative Director. He's also composed the scores for two produced musicals, and performed on a national tour.
In this episode, he goes a little deeper on the power of storytlelling. How it can impact retention rates and help connect with your audience on an emotional level.
Kevin also touches a bit on story structures and how different strucutres can be used to engage your audience and gain their attention. Once of the story structures mentioned was called Sparklines, created by presentation guru, Nancy Duarte. It alternates between what is - and what could be. Steve Jobs uses this effectively when he first rolled out the iPhone. He presented the state of the phone industry, and then offered a vision of what a phone could be. During his presentation he goes back and forth between the current reality and a vision for phones that seems far off and in the future. Then he ends by saying that all of those things that seem like a dream, that seem so far off for phones, that's what he's giving them with the iPhone. Turning that dream into a reality.
We're at a similar time with NFTs - where they seem like just JPEGs or a nice to have. Fanzo has offered ideas in previous episodes - like business use cases - that seem far off and in the future. In the near future those visions, those dreams of what NFTs and the blockchain could be, will become a reality. And they'll be as life changing as the iPhone was to the phone industry, or as life changing as the internet was to all previous media.
Keep your eyes open for change as it's not a matter of if, but in NFT land wen. As always - make it a great one!
