Kathleen O'Brien began her career as an advertising copywriter and went on to forge her path as a successful television broadcaster in three major markets. She built a video production company from the ground up, serving Fortune 100 companies nationwide, while simultaneously making a name for herself as a prolific voice-over actress, model, and screenplay writer.

Though her interest in aging had not yet surfaced, Kathleen’s media background served as the perfect pretext for understanding the functions of ageism in modern society.

Her curiosity about aging finally came to a head with the approach of her 60th birthday, a milestone that now represents the beginning of a riveting second act. Kathleen spent the following 12 years researching aging and eventually found herself back in the classroom; this time teaching her own philosophy on aging through the University of Denver’s continuing education program.

At the proud age of 73, Kathleen has just written her first book “Reclaim Your Right to Grow Old”, which takes a deep dive into society’s misguided attitude towards aging and highlights all of the wonders that lie ahead for those of us who dare to grow old.
