The brother x sister duo are back at the mic together this week to talk about the art and power of an introduction. They recognize our tendency to play small and vague when introducing ourselves, and we (often women) feel that strong introductions will be perceived as arrogant. Matt suggests that we should get more specific, and come equipped with stories. And Steph commits to stop playing the comparison game when introducing herself among peers. The purpose of an introduction is to provide context that is quick and accurate. The goal is to communicate to the audience what authority you have to speak, and why your voice matters. And if you haven’t been specific or generous in your introductions before, there is power in knowing that you can always re-introduce yourself. “It is a powerful thing to say — this is who I am and this is why my voice matters.”Show Links:I Am Not An Easy Man: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2bFHdkzqSZA
