Laura Melling is the founder and creative director of Laura Melling Studio, a Vancouver based interior design firm she started in 2010. She designs beautiful spatial experiences for residential and commercial clients and is passionate about making space feel good. Beyond her creative practice, Laura is a community creator. She is a connector of like minded people and a devoted ambassador for anything or anyone she believes in.“Yes it’s about how it looks — but we try to take it one step back — and think about: ‘how does it feel to be in space?’ — and ‘how can that impact your wellbeing?’” Laura and Steph riff on starting a studio, balancing being a creative and a business owner, and why being a community connector is at the heart of it all. “My purpose — the reason I am on this planet — is to be a community creator.” Laura co-created the Changemaker’s Market — where over 140 women-led small businesses, entrepreneurs, and artists from across BC came together in support of women's health. The Changemakers Market raised over $45,000 for the full spectrum of women’s health — all during a global pandemic.
