Isaiah 64:1 says, “Oh that you would rend the heavens and come down, that the mountains would tremble before you.”

In desperation the prophet wanted a grand entrance of God’s salvation! So he cried out, “Rend the heavens!”

Oh God, would you just tear open the skies and come down and fix the mess we’re in? These neighborhoods need the good news of Your Hope. These streets need the message of your peace lived out.  This nation needs the enduring joy of knowing You. This world needs a grand entrance of salvation, clear evidence of your redeeming love.

Rend the heavens with your hope. Rend the heavens with your peace. Rend the heavens with your joy. Rend the heavens with your love.
