Disappointing story
Read well however the story lacked substance. I cringed every time the mother referred to Julie as " the baby " ! Disappointing
Good but not the best
I enjoyed this new James Patterson book but I found Lindsey's adoration of her baby a bit over the top - probably because all the other books had portrayed her as a hard hitting cop whose dedication to her job overrode everything else in her life. She obviously went back to work too soon after giving birth!
However, the storyline was good - I like the way each character's lives and jobs are portrayed within the whole story and the narrator has a good storytelling voice. I think maybe the plot lines are beginning to pall and maybe it is time for JP to invent a new character in a new series. I am not sure that I would buy any more in this series - having read all of them so far.
Excellent
Love The Women's murder club books. Am always ready for the next one in the series.
Formulaic
Should have known better. Nothing against James Patterson, his books are like magazines, easy to read, don't need to think, good for train journeys etc as nice short chapters.
Liked women's murder club when it started but there have been too many. This was a rag tag miss mash of story lines. The most irritating was Julie, the baby. Her story took up far too much of the book. I just didn't care, I bought the book for a good murder, not the usual boring new mother story. Heartless I may be but I just didn't care and kept fast forwarding. Such short books anyway, ended up being about 6 hours.
a great listen
Would you consider the audio edition of 12th of Never to be better than the print version?
I can get on with my life whilst listening - it is less restrictive than a book
