Yes, it’s counter-intuitive, but it’s true… we cannot improve our personal influence without improving how we allow others to influence us. The two go hand in hand; the more we see others as real, ask good questions and really listen, the more they will feel seen and loved and be open to our influence. The Savior modeled this, and we can follow His example and enjoy deeper, more connected relationships as a result.
