In this episode, Mark T, Hofmann discusses the 'bright side' (soft skills, negotiation) and the' dark side' (cybercrime & psychopaths) of cyber security. The various topics include how malicious actors and hacker’s have varying motivations, from financial gain, espionage and ideology. With Ideology being the MOST interesting. Identifying an online perpetrator can be profiled by forensically investigating language, including spelling and communication. Lastly what it's like sitting down with hackers, cyber criminals and psychopaths all have demonstrable ‘cold empathy’.
