Scripture Intro:
[Slide 1] Turn in your bible to II Peter 3.
Today we will conclude our year long study on I and II Peter. Although all Scripture is living and active and applies to our lives today – it has seemed especially true of these two books. The apostle Peter speaks to the average Christian encouraging them and warning them of coming dangers. And his conclusion is simple and often repeated. Just because it is simple of course, doesn’t mean it is easy.
It will be difficult to move on from the Petrine Epistles, but to soften the blow, it seems the Lord is leading us right back into the same sort of message but from the beginning of church history. Starting next week we will begin our study of the book of James. I expect it to take us at least through the winter and perhaps even into summer of next year. After that I believe the Lord is leading me away from the epistles and to the Acts of the Apostles. And I have no idea how many decades that will take us to get through.
