#13 My first solo episode, about me and why we still need feminism

The HealRiseShine Podcast is about women, to empower and celebrate each other. It’s about telling stories we haven’t heard before from women who seem “normal” at first but are following their dreams and paths. These women could be anything from a neighbour, a friend, an acquaintance, a colleague or a family member to mention a few. They have incredible stories to tell when we least expect them.

More often than not in my view, we tend to admire celebrities and women who have built million-dollar businesses of which there is nothing wrong and is truly inspiring and important to hear and trust me I love listening to these incredible achievements. I just figured to also look on the other side of things that are more relatable on a daily and "normal" scale and easier to achieve. That said my focus is to look and find these women we can all relate to and are living amongst us. I like to call them" Real-life heroines" Women like you and me. Just following their dream.

We live in a colourful world. There is no right or wrong in what we do. Every one of us chooses different paths. We dream about different things, want different things and work towards different goals in life. There is no set way of doing things that work for everybody.

This podcast talks about feminism and life as a woman
Especially as women we get told: do this or do that. Society expects too much of us. We should have kids, but not too early, we should have a career but build a family as well. We should be successful but not too successful. We should dress a certain way, behave a certain way, fit in the society the man has built. But we live in a time where we stand in for ourselves. We chase our dreams and break free from what society tells us. We step outside the box. I want to inspire you to take that leap. To step outside your comfort zone and follow your dreams even though it might not be the conventional way.

I will be talking to women from all walks of life with different views, heritage, shapes, genders, ethnicity, and so on. I believe this will bring light to different types of living. There are so many dreams, as well as experience varying realities, achievements, disappointments, laughter, and cries. This world is so colourful because we are different. I want to encourage you to think outside the box and find the life you want to live - your dream.
