From New Year's Eve 1980 to August 1982, the Minneapolis-Saint Paul region of Minnesota was terrorized by an unknown killer who would attack women, beating and stabbing them to death, and then calling the police, confessing through tears and pleading for authorities to catch him before he killed again. In this episode, Melanie guides listeners through an alarming 20-month period full of fear and uncertainty as the Weepy Voiced Killer, later identified as Paul Michael Stephani, wreaked havoc on an otherwise peaceful community.
