13: Resilience, Bouncing Back When Business Goes South with Richard Kaufman
The title Comeback Coach was bestowed upon Richard by Gary Vee. Richard has come back from partial blindness, attempted suicide, and a host of other hardships to make something worthwhile out of his life.
Not knowing exactly what steps to take next he started a podcast to invite great people into his life and glean from their wisdom. He who walks with wise men will be wise. Resilience is Richard’s word that he lives every day, and he is on a mission to help others do the same.
When tragedy or economic upheavals hit your business and you are knocked down, what do you do? Do you stay down until the coast is clear or do you get up and get moving again?

You can only get so far on your own. To break the ceiling of achievement that is blocking you in, get someone to come alongside and help.
It’s not just business coaching either. You can have a health coach, spiritual coach, marriage coach. Whatever you want to up your game on, get someone who has been there to guide you there faster and with more confidence than you would on your own.
Why do you want a business? Stop and dig deeper by asking yourself “Why?” at least 7 times to get at the root cause and reason you want a successful business. Know your purpose. Stick to your purpose. Live your purpose.
Remember what Jesus said in Mark 8:36, “What shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?” Simple answer, not much. This world is just temporary. Live your life and operate your business for a noble purpose and enjoy profits not only in this life but in the life to come.
You are the average of the 5 people you spend the most time with. That is why it is important to get coaches and mentors in your group of 5 that can encourage your growth.
Proverbs 13:20 He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools will be destroyed.
