Dan Hennen, Stephen Sanzeri and Sophia join us to discuss the the Latent Prints and ESDA data related to the Notepad found in the office bedroom. Based on pages 60-62 of my book, The Gray Stage.
Excerpt from The Gray Stage:
"Regarding the latent print examinations, Item 41a-30 is page 30 of the notepad. LP41a30-1 is a latent impression (finger/palm) observed on page 30. Latent print results were “inconclusive to Crowley due to the limited quality and quantity of information in the latent and known prints.”
Similarly, Item 41a-31 is page 31 of 59. LP41a31-1 is a latent fingerprint on page 31, which was identified as David’s left middle finger. This is the only conclusive connection between David and the notepad.
Separately, “Two ESDA [Electrostatic Detection Apparatus] lifts taken of impressions found on the front side of page 20 of the spiral notepad” were examined and labeled as Item 41a-20A. Item 41a-21A consisted of “two ESDA lifts taken of impressions found on the front side of Page 21 of the spiral notepad.”
Can we safely assume pages 20 and 21 were the only notepad pages with indented impressions?
Handwriting comparisons between what was written on the notepad and the writings on the refrigerator door & checkbook in the kitchen never happened.(14) Three pages, labeled as 41a-39, 41a-40, and 41a-41, were “warped from being wet from something.”"
