13. Trusting Yourself to be Openhearted with Almendra Staffa-Healey
No matter how far you go in life, you’ll never be able to get away from one person: you! Instead, moving through life and through the world is one of the ways we find ourselves, as many of the guests on Being All of Us’s first season have done. And part of the journey is finding how we can belong in the world and leave it better than we found it.
This week’s guest is Almendra Staffa-Healey, who was born into movement and bravery. The child of an artist, she talks about growing up in Spain and in the United States. That in-between feeling led her to find belonging and understand loneliness and how she (and we) need to open our heart to connect with one another. She also shares the power of anger and the natural presence of sexual energy, and how important it is for us to embrace differences in ourselves and the world. And as different as you may be, I believe you will find a part of yourself to embrace in our conversation.
