Imposter Syndrome: Self talk, how you might be sabotaging your life with your thoughts, feelings, and internal dialog. Shutting up the judge that lives inside your mind. Not pretty, not smart, uninteresting, not a good mother, friend, lover, not perfect; these thoughts can literally RUIN your life.
Why do we do it then? Why do we allow the thoughts and the voice to rule how we interact in the world? Explaining the wiring of the mind and how you can stop it from being so impactful to begin living the life you deserve to live.
Subconscious memories that remind us of our childhood can feel familiar even though they aren’t good. Similarly, cues from people who remind us of the people in our life from our family of origin can lead us down the wrong path.
PTSD works this way, but when it isn’t that extreme these memories still play a role in our day to day.
Even if you didn’t get a good start in life, reminding yourself you are no longer those things. Reminding yourself of all the good things that you are. How far you have come. Refutable evidence against the negative stories. And a fail proof trick when you won’t listen to yourself.
Overcoming perfectionism: “God saw all that he had made, and it was very good.” Genesis 1:31 (NIV Version)
